What to Expect

Before the Appointment

Once you fill out an appointment request form (see below), someone from our office will reach out to you. If we are able to provide services, we will send you a link to register. If we aren’t able to provider services, we will send you information about to connect to care elsewhere.

Once registered you will be sent a link to schedule an appointment and forms to fill out before your appointment. These forms address basic questions and allow us to get the most out of an first appointment,

Appointment 1

Your first appointment will be with parents only if the child less than 12 years old. If older than 12, we will meet with the child alone. During the appointment we will let you tell us your story. The goal of this appointment is to get to know each other and understand your unique story. There are many standard things we have to ask all people (ex. substance use) that may or may not apply to your family. By the end of the appointment your doctor will schedule the next appointment to be with the other party alone (ex. child if parents were in the first meeting). You may be asked to fill out forms between sessions, collect information from previous providers or gather school records if that hasn’t already been done.
